The Syringa Speaker Series hosted Nick Shirley and Theo Wold for an evening of conversation about government accountability, culture, and the future of the country.
Our featured speakers, Nick Shirley and Theo Wold, brought two unique and compelling perspectives to the stage. Nick captivated the audience by sharing his personal journey, reflecting on his upbringing, the experiences that shaped him, and the determination that led him down an unconventional path. His message was especially powerful for the young people in attendance: Be brave. Be adventurous. Take chances. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and pursue what you believe in.
Theo brought his own valuable perspective, drawing on his experiences in Idaho and Washington, D.C., and offering thoughtful insights into leadership, government, and the opportunities ahead. He especially encouraged the young people in the room, reminding them that they are living in the best of times, with an extraordinary world of knowledge at their fingertips. With virtually every book ever written now within reach, he challenged them to read, learn, remain curious, and take full advantage of the remarkable opportunities available to their generation.

Protecting the Next Generation
The Syringa Speaker Series hosted its 2026 gala: Protecting the Next Generation on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Boise Centre in downtown Boise.
The evening featured bestselling author and journalist Liz Wheeler, nationally recognized activist Chloe Cole, and Fox News contributor and media personality Joe Concha. Together, these voices address one of the most pressing issues facing families and communities today: how to protect the health, safety, and well-being of America’s children.
2025 Summer Series
Megan Wold
For our first Syringa Summer Series, Megan M. Wold shared insights from recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions and a forecast of what is upcoming.
Megan focuses her practice on legal issues and brief-writing in complex commercial matters, constitutional litigation, and administrative law disputes. She has argued cases in both state and federal court, drafted briefs at all levels of state and federal litigation, and regularly practices before the U.S. Supreme Court. She has represented Fortune 500 clients in international arbitrations, complex tort and fraud litigation, class actions, commercial property disputes, and complex multi-district litigation. She has frequently represented clients in regulatory disputes with state and federal agencies.

Hemingway is a 2021 recipient of The Bradley Prize.
